candidate services

The Pryce Alexander Behavioural Profiler

Whilst all the Pryce Alexander team are experienced in getting to understand our candidates needs, wants and desires, we will never be able to secure your new job for you. On the day, this will be down to you.

Many of the leading employers that you will want to work for are using a variety of tests, psychometric profiles and other cognitive tools to help them find the ‘right’ employee.

Now with Pryce Alexander, you not only have the opportunity to complete your own profile and give yourself a distinct advantage, but we can use it as a tool to get to know you better. If we know you better, we will significantly increase the chances of helping you secure the job you want.

Why is it important?

The behavioural profile we believe is an invaluable tool in your quest to find new employment. If you complete it honestly, you will probably find it extraordinarily accurate. It will not only reveal how you behave and how others perceive you in the working environment but it will provide you and your consultant at Pryce Alexander with invaluable information about your temperament, behaviour patterns and personality.

It will help us to identify potential skills that you may not have realised that you have and the detailed, written report it produces will be a document for you to keep and refer to time and time again.

CV Origination and Presentation

To get to an interview you need a CV that grabs the attention of the reader. It needs to be clear and simple, enabling the reader to find the information they need quickly. You probably only have about 20 seconds to attract the reader's attention. Above all, it has to be relevant to the job function for which you have applied.

It is essential that the words used in your CV really make the reader want to meet you and to invite you to that all-important interview. You should treat your CV as a sales document. After all, you are selling yourself to a potential employer.

Pryce Alexander can work with you to create this important document. We can advise you how to create the right professional impression and give you the advantage.

We will consult with you on every aspect of your CV from origination right through to presentation and we will do this for job roles and opportunities that we have found for you and even those we haven’t! If you’ve seen that dream job in the paper or on the internet, let us know and we’ll help you to get it.

Interview Training

Your investment in the correct, relevant preparation prior to any interview is not only the best way to maximise your chances of securing an offer of employment, it is essential. If you are able to understand and interpret what your interviewer is trying to do you’ll be able to feel more confident and practiced which will enable you to deliver the right responses.

We at Pryce Alexander offer courses that consider the interview process from both sides of the table.

To help give you a better understanding of the interview process and improve your performance our training embraces:

  • How to thoroughly prepare for the interview
  • Understanding competency based interviewing
  • Questioning styles and techniques
  • Effective responses
  • Non-verbal communication

All our courses utilise a range of techniques, strategies and knowledge gained from our collective practical and theoretical experience gained in the recruitment, I.T., Finance, Leasing and Asset Management markets as both employees and as employers ourselves.

Our interview training programmes are held regularly and include elements involving practical exercises, video and role-play.

Career Counselling Service

Careers Counselling is a chance to look in depth at where you are now and develop ideas for your future career direction. It is a combination of exercises, questionnaires and discussion. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality questionnaire is a very well-established tool to help you identify your natural personality traits, values and strengths and how these might be applied to your choice of working environment.

Visit 1 (2 1/2 hours)

  • Review your working life to date - your likes and dislikes;
  • Complete the Myers Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality questionnaire;
  • Complete careers questionnaire and generate ideas for future options;
  • Agree actions to be completed before visit 2.

Visit 2 (2 hours)

  • Review action results and your objectives;
  • Compile criteria for judging career choices – motivators and needs;
  • Fine tune your future options;
  • Plan how to pursue or further investigate your chosen path.

Career Counselling is a confidential one-to-one process – no information will be passed on without consultation with you first.

Personal Mentoring

In working with individuals, we find that initially many see the process of furthering their career a daunting and often isolated and lonely process.

Even when they have found the 'right' role, we are able to provide ongoing support, guidance and direction. We contract with individuals to provide them with what can be best described as 'personal mentoring'.

  • What is mentoring?
"Support, assistance, advocacy or guidance given by one person to another in order to achieve an objective or several objectives over a period of time"

"Off-line help by one person to another in making significant transitions in knowledge, work or thinking."

"The support of one individual by another within a personal relationship developed through regular contact over a period of time"

  • What is the benefit?
For the individual, mentoring can improve self-confidence and self esteem, increase motivation, broaden horizons and experience and raise achievements and aspirations.

All our mentoring programmes have an evaluation process built into them. Your personal needs are considered right at the start of the programme when objectives are set. We have found that evaluation provides information that can be used to make mentoring programmes more effective to you as we move forward and to new people that want this very personal service.
